Hello everyone,
Just wanted to give you all some GREAT news! Kenzie Moore and Jessi Morgan have both advanced from the Area level of Scholarship qualification! This has always been the toughest level of competition we face. Both are in the running for a $10,000 to $16,000 Texas FFA Scholarship.
The application will now go to State level where they go through a “paper cut” where some applications are denied for problems with application (our area has only lost 2 in the last 5 years). They are then divided into groups A, B, and C where the following is the scenario -
A – will interview for $16,000 – nearly guaranteed if the interview goes well.
B – Will interview for $10,000 to $16,000 – top end of this group will get $16,000.
C – Interview for $10,000 (a few of these C group will only have the chance to receive $1,000)
Last year, Shelbie Reid earned a $16,000 scholarship from the B grouping.
If you see these girls, please congratulate them. They have worked their high school career for this opportunity.
