The Coahoma FCCLA and the Howard County Health Department have teamed together this week to provide information and education on Tobacco. Wednesday, March 23rd was National KICK BUTTS day. Displays and information are at every campus for students to pick up and read or take home to share with their families. We also held a slogan contest.
Each campus had to come up with a slogan.
The High School Campus winner was Mrs. Welch’s 3rd Period Class. Their slogan was..”Dipping is a mouthful…Smoking is a handful…don’t get started.”
The Junior High winner was Kassi Cocker…her slogan was…..”Don’t SMOKE, no JOKE, or you won’t become an old FOLK.”
Coach Dobbs also came up with a very clever slogan too… his was…”You should only be smoking if your on fire.”
I would like to thank The Howard County Health Department and everyone else that helped make this week a success.
The Howard County Health Department and the Coahoma FCCLA would like to thank the Campus Principals and Mr. Brown for being supportive in our mission to stop Tobacco use of teens.
Pictures of campus activities and events soon. Also, we would like the community to vote on which slogan they like best….we will create a page just for voting and we will announce the winner April 15th. The slogan you see in the fence on the south side of the football field is the slogan Ms. Carr’s class(high school) came up with.
